Donate blood at special journalists’ session

By October 8, 2019Public

Would you be interested in donating blood between 6.15 and 6.45pm on Thursday 21st November, at the Bishopsgate Institute? (Spitalfields, EC2M 4QH)?

We’ve block booked out appointments to invite health editors, producers, reporters and national freelancers.

There’s no big sell or announcement. We know journalists who donate are more interested in the subject so we want to encourage long term engagement. There’d be the usual free tea, coffee and snacks and a chance to see friends – or rivals – donating too. We’d like to make this an annual event, for new and existing donors who are national health journalists.

We’ll have a director and medical expert on hand too if you are interested in knowing more about the bigger picture. As well as the big issues (shortage of black donors and need for more O neg donors) we do have lots of niche treatments and areas that people don’t know much about (rare donor panels, stem cell therapies, rare disease treatments).

If you’re interested, and you are able to donate, please let me know and we’ll get you booked in if there is still space (most of the appointments are now taken but a few are still free).
