MMR: watch Brian Deer’s 2004 report for C4

You have to be of a certain age to appreciate the impact of Andrew Wakefield’s now roundly discredited claim that the MMR vaccine caused autism.

Health and medical journalists are often pilloried for the hysteria which followed, but the reality is the original article was published in a respected medical journal and Wakefield was exposed as a result of the dogged work of investigative journalist Brian Deer.
